ALESSANDRO BRESSANELLO
Eclectic, chameleon-like and surprising, he cannot be defined or described in any one way. He is a 1960s rock musician who continues to delight audiences with his group called The Band. He has also travelled the world performing the roles of Pantalone, Harlequin and other Commedia dell’Arte characters. At the same time, he has been bringing other musicians and artists to Venice for the last thirty years. On set – whether in the guise of a priest or a bandit, a bookseller or a patrician gigolo – he distinguishes himself through the freshness of his interpretation and the multifaceted sense of humanity that he brings to his characters. On occasion, however, he also collaborates on French, German, Japanese and American productions as a casting agent. Wherever he goes he leaves his mark, has played in Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, and even Austria, Yugoslavia, Russia, Greece, Turkey, England, and then Poland, Norway, Sweden, Malta, Brazil, Mexico, USA, Reunion Island, but his true home is Venice – la Serenissima – which is in an of itself a stage upon which artists and cultures from around the world meet.
